We currently have a position open for a Benefits Communication Specialist in our Torrance, CA office. The ideal candidate would be a service-oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to conduct oral presentations is a must. Bilingual in Spanish.
Essential Duties & Functions

Coordinate with Employee Benefit service teams to prepare open enrollment materials, conduct open enrollment presentations for MSTIS clients in English and Spanish (as needed), both virtually and onsite at client location(s) as needed
Coordination of meetings and materials needed with client
Conduct meetings, both virtually and onsite, to communicate to employees about their benefit plans
This position will also translate benefits materials and conduct meetings in Spanish as necessary
Assist with coordination and preparation of announcement material for enrollment process in cooperation with internal teams
Coordinate with carriers to obtain electronic employee kits, as well as coordinate any printed materials that may be needed
Preparation of electronic enrollment kit for clients which includes carrier materials, forms, and required compliance notices
Provide feedback to teams on open enrollment activities and requests that were expressed during open enrollment meetings
Assist employees with plan comparisons, enrollment, and benefits questions, and help with enrollment forms as necessary
Assist with build-out and maintenance of clients’ online benefit administration portals for use at open enrollment and throughout the year as needed
Create pre-recorded open enrollment meetings to be provided to client via online link
Attend internal meetings upon request
Assistance with populating employee census templates for carrier submission
Assist Employee Benefit service teams with updating annual plan documents as needed
Keep abreast of marketplace trends
Travel locally and out of town or state as needed for open enrollment meetings

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two or more years of employee benefits related experience and/or training
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time/project management skills
Proven ability to effectively conduct presentations
A willingness to continually upgrade their knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be bilingual and able to orally present and write in Spanish
Ability to sit in a stationary position for extended periods in an office setting and driving to client meetings
Extended work hours (10-12 hours/day) required on occasion for client open enrollment meetings
Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License
This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position
Maintain positive working relationships and clear communication with co-workers, clients, and insurance carriers
Must be available for offsite meetings with clients including travel to out-of-state (CA) locations as needed.
